Vanessa Meredith MA, LPC

     Owner and Executive Director

​

Vanessa Meredith earned her master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and her bachelor's degree in Psychology from West Virginia University. With 30 years of experience conducting individual and couples/marriage counseling, Vanessa specializes in working with people who struggle with clinical anxiety, depression and relationship issues. She uses a strength-based eclectic approach tailored to individual needs. Ms. Meredith also provides relationship coaching to individuals rebuilding their lives after separation, divorce or death of a loved one. 

 

Vanessa has facilitated various groups/workshops including Coping with Depression, Surviving Separation and Divorce, Codependency Groups, Stress Management, and Helping Families Cope with Grief and Loss.

As the owner and administrator of Meredith Counseling, Vanessa whole heartedly promotes our mission to   Empower individuals to recognize their worth and live an authentic, purpose-driven and joyful life.

Pauline Amaismeier MS, LPC, BSN, RN-BC, BC-TMH, CCTP

     Therapist

​

Ms. Amaismeier has nearly 35 years of experience in the mental health field. She earned her Master of Science degree in Community Agency Counseling from California University and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Duquesne University. She is also a Board Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse and has a certification in Tele-mental Health counseling. 

​

Pauline's passion and area of expertise lie in her work with trauma victims. Her experience includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma as a result of emotional, sexual or physical abuse, complicated grief issues, accidents, man-made or natural disasters or PTSD from serving in the military. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and also trained in EMDR and Critical Incident Stress Management, techniques which have yielded positive outcomes in working with first responders, and victims of tragedy and trauma. She also employs other modalities to treat mental health issues including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, and Narrative and Person Centered Therapies.

Pauline has also worked with first responders and the military. She is active on the National Disaster Medical Assistance Team and also serves on the American Red Cross' disaster mental health team where she has volunteered the past 27 years working with individuals experiencing sudden unexpected catastrophes.

Carolyn Baird DNP, MBA, RN-BC, CARN-AP, FIAAN

     Doctor of Nursing Practice, Psychiatric and Addictions Nurse, Therapist

Dr. Baird has practiced as a mental health and addiction disorders therapist providing individuals, family and group counseling, EMDR, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and EAP services since 1996. Her 35+ years experience in the healthcare field have been spent in providing treatment to individuals of all ages with addiction, mental health and co-occurring disorders in the full continuum of settings. She received both her doctorate in nursing practice and her master's in business administration-health care emphasis from Waynesburg University. 

​

Dr. Baird is an author, reviewer, presenter, trainer and adjunct faculty member. She has earned numerous accolades in the fields of nursing, psychiatric nursing and addiction treatment and has received a myriad of awards, including the Carlow University Alumnae Service Award for Health Care in 2004.

Linda Houston MA, LPC, NCC

    Therapist

Ms. Houston earned her master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Waynesburg University and her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.  She adheres to an integrative therapeutic approach--using a variety of counseling styles to suit the individual client. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist and specializes in trauma and complicated grief issues. Linda also has an extensive background in treating individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression. 

​

Linda employs various treatment modalities based on client needs including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, mindfulness techniques and EMDR. 

​

Her goal as your therapist is to have you never feel like you are in a "therapy session." You will experience a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where you can feel safe and secure.

Amanda Neace, MA, LPC, NCC

Therapist

Ms. Neace earned her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Washington and Jefferson University. She completed clinical training with a psychodynamic focus, which enables her to understand the complex interplay between a person's past experience and present challenges. Amanda's specialty training in structural family therapy equips her to address issues within the context of family systems, promoting healthier communication and dynamics. Her forward facing trauma interventions empower individuals to confront and heal from past traumas, fostering resilience and growth. She understands that trauma can have a profound impact on the body and mind and acknowledges this connection in the healing process. Perinatal and post-partum mental health is another area in which Amanda excels, providing support and understanding during crucial stages of pregnancy and early parenthood.

With over a decade of experience, Amanda has touched the lives of numerous individuals, families, and couples, helping them navigate their mental health challenges, and emerge stronger. Whether you are facing trauma, struggling with family dynamics, navigating perinatal and post-partum challenges, or just feeling stuck overcoming barriers to reaching authentic joy, Amanda is here to walk with you every step of the way.

Lora Rutherford, MS, LPC, NCC

     Therapist

​

Ms. Rutherford earned her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certification in addiction from the California University of Pennsylvania (now Penn West California) and her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Thiel College. She currently attends Waynesburg University as a Doctoral Candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is also an adjunct professor at Waynesburg University. She has special interest in working with individuals struggling with substance use and mental health issues. 

 

Ms. Rutherford's goal as your therapist is to empower you through your struggles and aid you in developing healthy, practical, and effective coping skills. She utilizes a strengths-based, culturally sensitive approach to tailor sessions directly to client needs and expectations. At her core, she resonates with a person-centered approach but does utilize other treatment modalities, like cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy.

Susan Woods MSW, LCSW

     Therapist

​

Ms. Woods earned a master's degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Clarion University. With over 20 years of experience working in various mental health settings, Sue gained expertise in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement, and trauma. She is trained in several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and insight oriented approaches. Sue also has extensive training in EMDR which she utilizes in her work with individuals presenting trauma issues. In addition, Sue obtained certification in Grief Counseling and currently facilitates a grief support group. 

​

Sue also has experience facilitating other groups such as Anger Management, Anxiety, Coping with Depression, and relationship groups. She recently conducted a presentation, "Smiling Through the Tears," which outlined her strategy on how to navigate life's difficulties utilizing the analogy of the palm tree to motivate individuals to bend not break or uproot during life's "storms." Sue strives to help people live their best lives by building self-esteem, developing necessary coping skills and ultimately changing a negative perspective to one of positivity and joy.
